Brussels Garden
Located in the neighbourhood of Green zone
PEB : D

About this neighbourhood
Green Zone
The locals say
Enjoy a family picnic in the park, or connect with nature with a woodland walk, all without having to leave the city.
It’s a foodie heaven too, with some of the city’s best restaurants. This oasis in the capital is renowned for its quality of life with peaceful, verdant spaces, beautiful homes and some excellent international schools.
History
This district has escaped much of the drive for modern development and retains much of its original period character with elegant apartment buildings and spacious homes all near parks and gardens. Many of the former Royal parks retain their 18th and 19th century style with historic architecture and landscaping.
Points of interest
Here the highlights include historic spaces including Woluwe Park, a landscaped area of wild meadows, gardens, golf, and Mellaerts Pond which is popular with fishermen and rowers. There are also two other renowned urban parks, the famous Bois de la Cambre and Forest of Soigne, both offering superb opportunities for relaxation in the city.
Public transport
Despite its appealing non-urban feel, the green zone of Brussels remains an integral part of the city and is well served by all the main transport operators, providing bus, trams, and metro and train services.
Location
The district is located south east the city centre. It has a good transport infrastructure, linking it with not only the downtown area, but also with the international airport and the intercity motorway network.
Shopping
One of the highlights here are the weekend neighbourhood markets, full of character. For boutique style shopping, it is also close enough to independent retailers in Avenue Louise and Place Antoine Gilson. For family shopping and entertainment there are also large retail malls, such as the nearby Woluwe Shopping Centre, offering international brands, fashion, food and technology.
